This is late...story of my life. Empties for the third quarter of this year are:
July
* Chanel Perfection Lumiere Foundation, 20 Beige – this is very expensive in Australia ($86!!) but I really liked this foundation. This shade was too light for me and 30 Beige is too dark so if I repurchased it I would need to buy both shades to mix. And the fact that I don’t consider that a crazy statement shows how beaten and desensitized I am to the horrendous prices we pay for cosmetics Down Under.
* Batiste Neon Lights Dry Shampoo – one of a couple limited edition scents that I picked up and this one I liked. It performs the same as other Batiste dry shampoos and I have repurchased it and added it to my stash of Batiste.
* Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo – the scent is a bit too old fashioned floral for my tastes but it works as well as the rest of the line so no doubt I’ll repurchase it again in the future.
* Tresemme Salon Finish Hairspray, travel size – I liked this well enough that I bought the big can which unfortunately isn’t the same formula and leaves my hair crunchy. Unfortunately switching the spray nozzles didn’t make a difference so I don’t tend to reach for the big can as much.
* Nivea Gentle Facial Cleansing Wipes for Dry and Sensitive Skin
– liked these much better than the others in the line as they removed my makeup
very well but they are a little rough under my eyes – might repurchase but only
if they were on sale
August
* Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo – my fav scent so it’s the one I repurchase the most. 7 finished this year so far.
* Nivea Stress Protect Anti-Perspirant – I really liked the scent of this one and if it was anti-white mark I’d definitely buy it again. Hmmm... I might repurchase.
* Garnier Clean Sensitive 2 in 1 Gentle Makeup Remover – another staple. 2 of these down for the year.
* Beauty Essentials Be Fresh Make-up Remover Wipes with Cucumber, 25 pack – these smelt nice but didn’t perform any better than the rest of the line so I would not repurchase.
* Banana Boat Aloe Vera Lip Balm SPF30+ - 4 down so far and
as I write this post I have another 2 nearing the end. As always a definite
repurchase.
* Loreal Casting Creme Gloss Shine Enhancing Conditioner
with Royal Jelly – I’m pretty slack in using these or any conditioner actually.
I prefer leave-in sprays as I find they’re lighter and don’t encourage my hair
to get greasy. They do make my hair feel lovely and soft tho so I‘m trying to
remember to use them.
September
* OGX Biotin & Collagen Shampoo – I bought this for its thickening promise. The smoky scent was strong while shampooing my hair but didn’t linger and I’m not sure it really did much to thicken my hair so probably won’t repurchase anytime soon.
* Batiste Ella Henderson Dry Shampoo – this works just as well as other Batiste scents but this limited edition fragrance was just ok. It smelled like powdery coconut and I probably won’t repurchase.
* Nivea Anti-Perspirant Invisible For Black & White, Pure – meh, this worked OK and the scent was alright but not my favourite. Probably won’t repurchase.
* Vaseline Intensive Rescue Soothing Hand Cream – I mainly use hand cream in winter and as I have a number of backups I won’t repurchase for a while but I do prefer this hand cream over most others I’ve tried as it really sinks in and doesn’t leave a film or residue on my skin.
* NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, sample – I got this in a Mecca Beauty Loop Box and loved it. It works just as well as Urban Decay Primer Potion but doesn’t separate or leave a greasy feel like UDPP does. This is on my definite repurchase list once I finish the UDPP.
* Garnier UltraLift Day Cream with SPF 15 – my standard day
cream since 2012. It soaks in well and doesn’t interfere with any makeup I put
on top and the SPF is enough for me for daily use where I don’t see much more
sun than what comes in through the windscreen of my car. I tend to go through a
jar every 3 months.
* Rexona Motion Sense Anti-Perspirant, Shower Fresh – I
prefer this type of stick deodorant but Rexona changed the formula and scents
of their entire range recently and I can’t get the ‘no white mark’ version
anymore so am now buying this instead. Not sure if it works as well, I guess
summer will be the true test, but I have repurchased it as few companies make
the stick ones anymore.
* Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Perfume – ah my signature
scent. I love the sweetness of this perfume and have already moved onto my next
bottle. Definite repurchase.
Not as much progress as I'd hoped but at least its consistent. Only 18 products used this quarter brings the total in 2015 to 75.
