Empties #2

Super busy start the year and not a whole lot o' slap going on but I'm still slowly going through products.

* Banana Boat Aloe Vera Lip Balm SPF30+ - love this lip balm. Compared to other brands like Nivea or Chapstick, there is no competiton. It's cheap and so fantastic at leaving your lips feeling hydrated even hours after applying it. I can put this on before I go to bed and my lips still feel soft and supple by morning. And the SPF is a bonus.
* SHE Buff Away Face Polish - the last of the SHE sample kit. I pushed through used it in the shower as while it smells unappealingly medicinal, the grains remind me of a watered down version of a St Ives Apricot Scrub which I once loved (pre chemical exfoliant days). Along with everything else SHE I've tried I won't be purchasing the full size.
* Peter Thomas Roth Power K Eye Rescue - holy crap I love this stuff because it actually works! It's a god send for my dark circles and I will be repurchasing this little pot of magic as soon as I can afford it.
* Garnier Bodytonic Sugar Scrub - this is a pamper product for me as I'm not convinced it does much more than make me feel like I've disappeared to a day spa for a tiny fraction of me time. I love the scent and use this in the shower on my chest, belly and thighs, otherwise known as my scar/stretchmark zone, in the vague hope that the exfoliating and mild massage these areas get might improve the skin texture.
* Beauty Essentials Be Fresh Make-up Remover Wipes with Aloe Vera, 25 pack  - this is the first of 4 versions of the Priceline brand facial wipes I bought during a 50% off sale earlier this year. Its nothing to write home about, they're OK I guess but since they didn't perform any better than the Smartskin wipes I can get from Woolworths for $1, I don't think I'll bother repurchasing.
* Tresemme Colour Protection Shampoo - I switched to this one once I realised that the Deep Cleansing version was stripping my hair colour. It does an OK job, cleans well, feels moisturising but also washes clean so I will most likely repurchase.
* Batiste Wild Dry Shampoo and Tropical Dry Shampoo - I don't mind the Wild scent and though I find it doesn't leave as much of a white cast or work as well as my favourite, the Tropical scent, I'd easily repurchase both of these.

* V05 Miracle Mist - this leave in conditioner does not ‘rescue’anything. It's just a basic conditioning mist though a bit thin for my liking. I can't seem to find it instore anymore but don't think I'd repurchase it anyway.
* Tresemme Heat Tamer Protective Spray - not sure if it is helping much as straightening my hair has really damaged it but this smells nice and doesn’t weigh my hair down. Have repurchased it.
* Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo - another one used up, a staple in my bathroom.
* Garnier Clean Detox Refreshing Cleansing Gel - I'm a little dismayed that Garnier seem to be discontinuing this in favour of the 3 new targeted cleansing gels that have come out recently, one of which I've tried and don't like already. Thankfully I've got back ups of this but I'm not sure what I'll do once I finish those.
* Garnier Perfect Blur Smoothing Base Perfector - I've been using this as primer before makeup. It does provide a smooth base though it does nothing for my pores and doesn’t really prolong my foundation wear time so I tend to use this for short days like shopping/school volunteer/etc. I had every intention of not repurchasing it after I finished the first tube but having just started my 3rdtube I guess I like it well enough after all.

* Batiste Dry Shampoo for Brunette Hair - This doesn’t work quite as well as non coloured versions but is still great and is useful when my roots are showing to help cover the colour difference. Definate repurchase.
* Batiste Tropical Dry Shampoo - not sure how I went through 2 this month, probably a little heavy handed spraying it on to be honest.
* Nivea Anti-Perspirant Invisible For Black & White, Clear - I got this among some others in a 50% off sale as I wanted to try them out. Its OK, the scent is heavy though so I'm not sure if I would repurchase. At least it didn't seem to mark my clothes as promised.
* V05 Frizz Relief Miracle Mist - this worked better than the basic Miracle Mist from last month but its still not great. Can’t repurchase it as I can't seem to find it anywhere -
 possibly discontinued??
* Beauty Essentials Be Fresh Make-up Remover Wipes with Vitamin E, 25 pack - pack 2 of the 4 I bought. These are worse than the Aloe Vera version I finished in February. They felt scratchier and the liquid didn't remove my makeup as effectively. I definately wouldn’t pay full price for them.
* Woolworths Homebrand Makeup Removal Pads, 80 pack - these were rubbish, completely uneven thickness and rough to the touch.
* Garnier UltraLift Day Cream with SPF 15 - this is my easy, go to, reliable day moisturiser which I know works under any of my foundations. Thankfully the new formula works as well as the old and if anything seems to really sink into my skin nicely. Will continue to repurchase.
* Natio Brow and Lash Mascara, clear - finally chucked this as it had less than ¼ left and I couldn’t coat the brush fully anymore. Not sure why I hung onto it for so long as it didn’t hold my brows very well so while I really got my money's worth out of it, I wouldn’t repurchase it.
* Maybelline The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara - this is my favourite of all the drugstore mascaras I've tried. Its a nice wet black colour with no clumping and has a great bristle brush. I've bought this a number of times and will continue to do so.
* Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk Foundation in 5.5, sample pot - this was given to me when I bought the full size product. The colour is a great match for my summer tanned skin but will be too dark for winter so I'll need to mix it with a lighter colour in a few months time. I love the finish this gives but the staying power isn’t fabulous especially over Inglot Under Makeup base primer which I use as a pore filler. However it actually pairs brilliantly with the Hourglass Mineral Primer and I get hardly any fading around my chin and nose with these two in combination but the Hourglass primer does nothing for my pores. Not sure if I would repurchase it purely because of the price but I'm sure going to relish wearing it while I have it.
* Banana Boat Aloe Vera Lip Balm SPF30+ - still love it. Obviously.

So that makes 25 items finished for 2015, none of which are ones I want to focus on. Hmmm looks like I have some work to do.
